Kellie Harrington captures silver medal in World Championships

Ireland’s Kellie Harrington took home a silver medal in the light-welterweight division at the World Championships.

Harrington cruised to the finals with wins over Lithuania’s Austeja Auciute, Germany’s Cinde Rogge, Kazakhstan’s Zarina Tsoloyeva and Canada’s Sara Kali before she lost to China’s Wenlu Wang in the finals.

There is no women’s light-welterweight division in the Olympics, which means Harrington won’t get to compete in the games, which is a shame.

But props to her silver medal finish and hopefully fans get to see her compete in the Olympics or, on the professional level. She’s got good hands and can fire off those jabs when she’s up close.
