Monday Night Raw had one of its best openings in a while. Fresh off winning the WWE Universal Championship, Kevin Owens rips into the crowd for stealing his moment. Seth Rollins comes down and demands answers from Stephanie McMahon and Mick Foley. Owens blasts Rollins, who attacks him. Foley makes the match for Clash of Champions.
There’s a lot to like about this opening. Owens continues to be a great bad guy while Rollins comes in angry, passionate and wants retributions. I loved he talked about Owens “having his hand held” since he stepped into NXT. It sets up Owens as the company’s top heel and Rollins as a non traditional face/anti-authority figure.
I can’t wait for Clash of Champions. This is going to be a great match.
