It was only a matter of time fight fans – “Big Country” Roy Nelson signed a multi-fight contract with Bellator MMA.
Nelson announced he signed the promotion on social media. The promotion has yet to make an official announcement.
Official or not, this is a big get for Bellator – which has signed numerous UFC veterans in the last four years. Nelson was one of the prominent fighters in the UFC’s heavyweight division during octagon run, which lasted over seven years. His signing adds some extra sizzle to Bellator’s heavyweight division, which already has a plethora of well-known talent, including Matt Mitrione and Fedor Emelianenko, who will face off in the co-main event of Bellator’s June 24 Madison Square Garden card.
