It’s the combination of one of the greatest teams that have never tagged together – as far as I know. I’m talking about the combination of former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and Tag Team superstar Xavier Woods a.k.a. Austin Creed.
Rollins has been in tag team matches with Creed as part of the new day – the former WWE champion is dubbed “Cap’n” by the group, but him Creed were never a tag team on the main roster or in NXT.
Today, Creed and Rollins take on former World Tag Team Champions the Natural Disasters, Earthquake and Typhoon at Halloween Havoc. Note, they aren’t actually playing themselves. I believe Creed is playing as “The Perfect 10,” Tye Dillinger while Rollins selected the “King of Strong Style” Shinsuke Nakamura – sorry I refuse to call him “The Artist.”
The Halloween Havoc entrance is gorgeous, especially when Nakamura makes his entrance to the ring. It’s really cool seeing the Natural Disasters come out together. I wasn’t a huge fan of theirs as a kid, though I was glad they defeated Money Inc. – who beat my favorite team the Legion of Doom – to win the World Tag Team championships.
This is a fun video that includes an apperance from WWE broadcaster Corey Graves – also known as Sir Graves. If you haven’t had a chance to view the roster, the duo go through the various ratings of each WWE superstar, Legend and Hall of Famer. I think my favorite quote from the video is before the match when Rollins says “I’m so happy Bam Bam Bigelow is rated higher than Baron Corbin.”
There’s also Graves’ quote of “I was the Glass Joe of WWE 2K15.”
Rollins is the cover athlete of WWE 2K18, which is on sale. I am still waiting for the Nintendo Switch version to drop so I won’t be making this match anytime soon.
