Alexa Bliss as No. 1 contender to Raw women title is a good thing

Note: This is a story I wrote for Champions.co

It didn’t take long for former Smackdown women’s champion Alexa Bliss to assert herself as one of Raw’s top women.

Bliss won a Fatal Fourway match against Sasha Banks, Mickie James and Nia Jax to become the No. 1 contender for the Raw women’s championship, currently held by Bayley. The two will clash on April 30 at Payback.

Bliss made her Raw debut last week as a part of the “Superstar Shakeup” to a star’s welcome. It wasn’t a surprise since there were reports that Bliss would be switching brands with Charlotte Flair. This is a great opportunity for the former Smackdown women’s champion to compete on another – and in some people’s opinion a bigger – stage.

Sasha Banks wins the women’s title … again

My favorite WWE superstar Sasha Banks once again became the Raw Women’s Champion. Sasha and Charlotte main evented Raw in what was a great match. I’ve said it before, but I could watch these two wrestle each other all day.

I saw some fans say they’d like to see Charlotte face Sasha in Hell in a Cell. I’d be down for that.

A big bucket of win for Charlotte and for Sasha – your new Raw Women’s Champion.

Going in Raw – Brand Split Discussion and my thoughts

Steve and Larson discuss the brand split that WWE announced today.

I have questions about some things but I’m looking forward to it. Steve complains about the lack of storyline prompting it, which I think could help – but I also see just announcing it as realistic. I hope tag teams don’t get split up and I think having certain titles on one show – like the U.S. title on Smackdown and the IC belt on Raw. Also each brand should have a distinct champion.
